Chuka Technical and Vocational College is a Government TVET Institute located in Tharaka Nithi County, Chuka Igambangombe Sub County. It is situated 8 km from Chuka Town, 5km off Kaanwa road toward the Tharaka Nithi County headquarters Kathwana.
The construction of Chuka Technical and Vocational College was commenced in the year 2015 as a government project. The initial Mentorship was under Chuka University. Later on, Chuka University handed over the mentorship of Chuka TVC to Meru National Polytechnic upon revision of mentorship policy by the Government. The main objective of the Government was to increase access to TVET institutions and to drive the Kenya Vision 2030 toward industrialization. The construction was completed in May 2017 after which the College received its first Principal.
Chuka TVC opened its door for the admission of students on 9th January 2018. Chuka Technical and Vocational College is a Centre of Excellence in Mechanical Engineering (Production Option) Its objective was to offer hands-on training in technical skills, with strong components of entrepreneurship skills for self-employment.
The pioneer courses included both Diploma and Certificate courses in Building and Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Plumbing, Agriculture, Business Management, Sales and Supplies Management, Human Resource Management, and Mechanical Engineering.
