Morendat Institute of Oil & Gas

Morendat Institute of Oil & Gas (MIOG) is a Government-funded public institution that offers training in oil & gas-related courses. It was set up following heads of state summit consisting of presidents of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and South Sudan during the 3rd Heads of State Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda, on October 28, 2013. In this meeting, member states resolved to establish Centres of Excellence in the region to offer capacity building for the Northern Corridor Integration Projects (NCIP).

MIOG is located along Moi North Lake Road, 12 km from Naivasha town and 3.42km off Naivasha/Gilgil-Nakuru highway on the outskirts of Naivasha town.

Mission: To build human resource capacity in Oil & Gas and related fields by offering innovative competencies.

MIOG is a TVETA registered institution. TVETA is a State Corporation established under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Act, 2013 that was Publicized in a Special Issue of the Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 44 (Acts No. 29) on 25th January 2013 and commenced on 24th June 2013. The TVET Authority Board was appointed on 9th May 2014 through a Gazette Notice No. 3134 and inaugurated on 4th June 2014. The mandate of the Authority is to regulate the TVET sector through Licensing, Registration, and Accreditation of institutions, programs, and trainers.
