Applied Biology is the understanding of how organisms work from the sub-cellular to the whole organism level.

This Applied Biology Diploma program involves the study of life and living organisms, including their physical and chemical structure, function, development, and evolution. Students are taught how to utilize living organisms (mostly microbes) to produce useful products. The students acquire knowledge that will help them in traditional activities such as brewing and cheese making and modern technological developments such as genetic engineering.

Graduates of this Applied Biology Diploma program may work in various biological laboratories, research institutions, the pharmaceutical sector, food industry, and the agricultural sector or may go into gainful self-employment.
