This General Agriculture course is a Certificate program accredited by KNEC.
Craft Certificate in General Agriculture is is designed to equip the trainee with relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable him/her to work in an agricultural establishment and related industries and related fields.
This General Agriculture Certificate program aims at imparting competences required to safely operate and effectively supervise entrepreneurial agriculture production process.
This course is suitable for people wanting to work in the field of agriculture or those who simply want to improve their general knowledge of agriculture.
This course develops your capacity to work confidently on a specialized or mixed farm.
Though the units in General Agriculture may differ from institution to institution, the course work for two years is the same. Here is a list of the units that comprise the whole course.
Careers can be found in many areas such as: livestock nutrition, breeding and management, sales, lending, leadership, education, machinery and equipment management, crops, engineering, genetics, crop protection products, plant food, ,sustainable agriculture, food processing and marketing.
Students can return to home farms or ranches, move into agricultural middle management, become extension staff, move into political lobby positions, work in marketing or international agriculture, become high school teachers of agriculture, or teach agriculture in community colleges.
