Aircraft Maintenance

The Aircraft Maintenance program is a two-year diploma program. Students will learn about the aspects of aircraft systems used in general aviation, corporate, transport category aircraft, and helicopters. Graduates will be prepared for a career within domestic or international aircraft maintenance and aviation manufacturing organizations.

Graduates of this Aircraft Maintenance Diploma program will be able to: 

• Follow detailed regulations set by the relevant authorities
• Conduct regular and scheduled inspections of aircraft frames and parts to spot defects
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, using gauges and other diagnostic tools
• Measure the wearing out of parts and components with special and accurate instruments
• Perform maintenence, repair & replace aircraft parts, including Brakes, wings electrical systems and other components usinf hand tools or powered tools
• Inspect completed work to make sure that it functions effectively, meeting perfomance standards
• Understand and follow blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to install, develop or operate equipments or parts.
• Checks condition of aircraft and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures. 
• Direct the work of a number of Air Mechanics and Trades Helpers.
• Fly with aircraft as flight engineer.
