Handloom Weaving Operator

Weaving machine operators set up, operate and monitor weaving machines .They work with specialised machinery, techniques and materials to process threads of yarn into weaved products such as clothing, home-tex or technical end products. They maintain and repair weaving machinery and ensure operations run without problems.

At the end of this Handloom Weaving Operator course, you will be able to:

• prepare machines for operation by selecting and installing attachments and components for specialised functions
• set and operate controls used to regulate processing operations
• start machines and monitor operation to detect faults and ensure effectiveness of operation
• load drums with hides and skins, textiles, and dyeing and tanning solutions
• thread loom shuttles with cross-yarn arms
• position and feed machines with fibre packages
• repair broken yarns by tying and splicing ends
• examine finished products for defects and variations
• identify faults in machines
• carry out quality control procedures
