The North Eastern National Polytechnic was upgraded from a Technical Training Institute to a National Polytechnic in June 2016 through a gazette notice.
The Institute was founded in 1983 and it offers technical and business training programmes to the youth to enable them to enter in self-employment, salaried employment and/ or further training. It is the only National Polytechnic in the whole of the North-Eastern region.
The North Eastern National Polytechnic has established academic admission requirements for programmes on offer in line with the (TVET) Standards and Guidelines. In addition, the Polytechnic shall endeavour to keep abreast with national and international trends and emerging issues, maintain the quality standards set for each academic programme on offer at the Polytechnic and meet the commitment of enhancing the continuous improvement of the polytechnic quality systems.
