Africa Institute of Health and Development is a state-of-the-art institute pioneered to provide professional training. The institute is registered by the Directorate of Industrial Training, Ministry of Education. The Institute was pioneered as a result of the fast increasing rate of disaster incidents and complexities of community problems in the society.

Africa Institute of Health and Development has three campuses, one at KINANIE MARKET just about 4km from Athi River Town and the other at Athi River Town, Ngei Two, and the other at Nairobi, Development house 8th floor, opposite Afya center. For the Kinanie campus, Matatus are picked from Athi River town Peponi stage next to the market. They are all located in a good environment with a conducive learning atmosphere

Hence the Africa Institute of Health and Development saw there was a need for improved response in order to restore health and save a life more efficiently and effectively. This act of saving a life is only achievable through proactive appropriate capacity building of the vulnerable communities: and the same through community workers well equipped with relevant skills attitude and knowledge.
